- Special Biology (programme PřF, N-EXB)
- Special Biology (programme PřF, N-EXB, specialization Experimentální biologie živočichů a imunologie)
- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students should be able to: - discuss problematics of transmission and processing of information by nervous system. - understand fundamental membrane events and role of canals in transduction in particular senses including psychophysiology context of sensation and memory. - acquaint colleagues with a short relevant paper. - analyse scientific text, formulate and present key information - create and defend brief research project - present knowledge of comparative physiology in the context of key neurophysiological principles.
- Learning outcomes
- After the successful completion of course, students should be able to: -discuss the problematics of neurophysiological processes; -survey recent problems of sensory neurophysiology; -understand the bases of modern techniques of nerophysiology; -analyse scientific papers from sensory neurophysiology;
- Syllabus

- Teaching methods
- Theoretical study by means of lectures, seminar discussions and presentations, scientific papers provided by lecturer.
- Assessment methods
- Student is supposed to acquaint colleagues with a short relevant paper. Students prove their knowledge in dialogue with the teacher, classification depends on correctness and perfection of the answers. Well prepared paper analysis, active discussion on the paper, well prepared small research project and at least 50% knowledge of topics is mandatory.
