- The course is also offered to the students of the fields other than those the course is directly associated with.
- fields of study / plans the course is directly associated with
- Plasma Physics (Eng.) (programme PřF, D-FY4)
- Plasma Physics (programme PřF, D-FY4)
- Course objectives
- The goal is to link the knowledge of students in the fields of plasma physics and nanotechnology. This includes the integration of students into a professional international team and the strengthening of mutual cohesion between students of the different research groups. It is a seminar for students from students. It is especially suitable in preparation for the final state examinations. As part of the seminar, students prepare presentations on a chosen topic in front of a professional audience.
- Learning outcomes
- The student will learn how to transfer acquired knowledge effectively to the audience, present a lecture on a professional topic and enhance their softskills. The student will further improve their understanding of the material covered in lectures and seminars and strengthen their independent work and study of professional literature.
- Syllabus
- Individual lectures within the scope of the expected knowledge of the student of plasma physics within the state thesis areas of doctoral studies:
- kinetic plasma theory, collision processes in plasmas, transport equations
- types of discharges, mechanisms of discharge ignition, structure of discharges, processes occurring in discharges
- plasma-surface interaction, physical and chemical processes on surfaces, deposition, etching, surface modification, surface characterization
- plasma diagnostics (UV/VIS emission, absorption, fluorescence, infrared, microwave, EPR, titration, electromagnetic scattering, probe diagnostics, electrical characterization of discharges, mass and energy analysis, gas chromatography, slit photography)
- Plasma applications (formation of materials on surfaces and in bulk, decomposition of substances, radiation source, use in analytical chemistry, etching, surface modification, thermonuclear fusion)
- Teaching methods
- Presentations by doctoral students and shorter ones by masters students on plasma physics and related professional topics are supplemented by excursions to research organizations and private companies related to research at the Department of Plasma Physics and Technology.
- Assessment methods
- One seminar presentation is required for the successful complete the F7900 course.
- Language of instruction
- Czech
- Further Comments
- The course is taught once in two years.
The course is taught: every other week.
