Course objectives
At the end of this course the student will be able to: understand and explain the causes of possible geological hazards, their risks in the world generally and in the Central Europe definitely.
Learning outcomes
Student, after finishing of the course, will be able to idenify the geological hazards.
Syllabus
  • a) Volcanism and its risks, possibilities if its forecasting
  • b) Earthquake activity, its measurement and forecasting. Neotectonics. Underground nuclear explosions.
  • c) Landslides, rocky destruction.
  • d) Floods, influence of the climate and human activities on floods.
  • e) Dust devil.
  • f) Old minig activities, underground hazard, methane hazard.
  • g) Radon hazard, natural radioactivity of rocks.
  • h) Impacts of extraterrestrial bodies.
