- Course objectives
- Main objectives can be summarized as follows: field surveys of flora and fauna in selected ecosystems, recording of local ecological factors, collecting of samples of plant and animal taxa and their documentation and conservation, followed by identification of dominant species.
- Learning outcomes
- Students will be able to identify common and some rare taxa of plants and animals in the field. They will get acquainted with the protected areas visited during the excursions and will be able to interpret the occurrence of taxa recorded in the context of their biology and ecology.
- Syllabus
- Study of the plant and animal taxa in selected ecosystems. Recording of some ecological factors, plant and animal samples and their evaluation, documentation and preservation. Identification of dominant species.

- one week field trip during summer holiday (5 days per semester)
- Assessment methods
- after the course, students have to prepare a list of taxa recorded during the course - each student is responsible for a given taxonomical group
