- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to familiarize the students with a theory and a practice of creating teaching materials in chemistry. The emphasis is put on the creation of electronic teaching materials practically usable in chemistry tuition in high schools, but students also practically work with many printed teaching materials for elementary and high school (e.g. textbooks or popularization literature).
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, a student can: compare different teaching materials and select the appropriate material for a particular pedagogical goal; can design and create own teaching materials for teaching chemistry (e.g., textbook, presentation, simple web or interactive material) concerning didactic and graphic design and copyright law. Students can also work with a variety of teaching software (including software for creating chemical formulas, interactive textbooks and worksheets, and chemical games) and are familiar with databases of chemical experiments used to create materials.
- Syllabus
- 1. Teaching materials and bases of its creation
- 2. Electronic teaching materials
- 3. Textbooks in chemical education
- 4. Chemical didactic software
- 5. Experiments in chemistry tuition
