Jean Monnet Chair project is one of the forms of support of European integration. It has been developing the EU studies on five continents and more than seventy countries since its foundation year 1989. The project supports creating new courses, research and development of research in specialised institutions such as College of Europe Bruggy or European Institute Florence. The programme is funded by European Commission under the lifelong learning programme.
Jean Monnet Chair is a prestigious title for a university teacher aimed at the EU issues in a specific field of study. In the Department of International Relations and European Studies one of the Jean Monnet project forms has been repeatedly gained by Petr Fiala, Markéta Pitrová and Petr Kaniok.
