- Course objectives
- Tento kurz je určen pro studenty všech fakult Masarykovy univerzity se sluchovým postižením. Slouží jako alternativa k povinné výuce angličtiny na některých oborech na MU. Kurz také poskytuje úvod do akademického psaní pro studenty se sluchovým postižením. Výstupní úroveň tohoto kurzu je přibližně B2+ podle Společného evropského referenčního rámce.

- READING: Going abroad to study (application forms); Ways of effective reading (summary of reading strategies); WRITING: Describing people + informal letter; VOCABULARY: Dictionaries (parts of speech); personality; GRAMMAR: Tense revision
- Lesson 2 - Daily routines
- READING: Work and stress; WRITING: routines and procedures, sequencing; VOCABULARY: collocations; jobs -er, -or, -ist; word building; GRAMMAR: Making questions - revision + indirect questions +reported speech

- Assessment methods
- Students are allowed two absences in a semester. Absence needs to be previously arranged and approved by the teacher. Additional absences need to be evidenced.
One of the prerequisites for the completion of the course is home preparation and doing assignments.
Students must sit for the midterm test and/or the end-of-course test. Students must obtain at least 60% of the total number of points available in the end-of-course test.
Exam: The final grade is based on the grades achieved in the final test and the mid-test. Mid-test assessment grid: Less than 40% in the mid-test = -3 points from the end-of-course test score; 40-50% = -2; 50-60%= -1; 60-70% = 0; 70-80% = +1; 80-90% = +2; 90-100% = +3.
