Cíle předmětu
The course focuses on core health policy planning and evaluation issues and applied problems in the field. Topics include an overview of healthcare delivery models, health insurance design, the role of public, private and other stakeholders, payment and reimbursement, biotechnology and innovation policy, social and healthcare for the elderly, mental health, health policy communication and global health.
Výstupy z učení
Students will:
- understand key issues in health policy in Europe, US and other regions
- be able to critically assess the needs and challenges of populations in accessing high-quality healthcare
- be comfortable discussion policy reform proposals linked to specific needs in a specific context
- have the skills to critically evaluate the feasibility, effectiveness and efficiency of select health policies
- write and provide critical commentary on contemporary issues in health policy
- improve soft skills such as communication, active listening, time management, teamwork and critical thinking crucial in problem solving in healthcare organizations, with care providers or in policy making.
