Course objectives
Law for Economists (PRPE) The chief objective is to pass on the knowledge of individual disciplines of law, which will help the student understand the role of law in economy and also to equip students with the skills indispensable for economists. The subject enables students to find orientation in the current legislation. They will acquire the essentials of legal disciplines - civil, commercial, labour and administration law. The subject matter also includes contractual relations, among which are the most frequently used types of contract. To learn how to work with legal sources and how to acquire legal thinking, students will study realistic cases. The course incorporates current legislation into the topic content. The subject continues Fundamentals of Law. The knowledge gained is a prerequisite for enrolling in the specialised legal subjects. Credit requirements: 80% participation in seminars, seminar essay. Examination: written, oral.
