Course objectives
Social Policy (SDSC) The main objective of the course is to provide students with knowledge of the functions and the process of social policy, its social and economic conditionality, its principles, content and concrete instruments and models both in this country and abroad. This course is based on the general concept of social policy in relation to public policy and explores different ideological concepts. Within the framework of a practical concept it deals with the individual sectors of social policy: social security policy, family policy, housing policy, unemployment policy, health care policy and educational policy. Within these sectors it concentrates on institutional security and the main objectives, principles, conception, economic and social instruments and current problems of social policy in the Czech Republic and abroad. Examination requirements: seminar essay on a chosen topic. Examination: written test of the fundamental knowledge and the oral part.
