- Course objectives
- The main objective of the course is to discuss and analyze topical problems of public utilities and housing. Particular attention is paid to the specifics of theoretical and practical issues in the Czech Republic.
At the end of this course, students should be able to:
- consider the importance and principles of public utility functioning
- understand the sectors in the Czech Republic in detail
- learn the basic principles of the housing market
- get an overview of the topical development of the housing policy
- understand the specificity of various housing sectors (owner, rental, cooperative) - Syllabus
- The content of this course is divided into four basic parts. First two parts (topics I and II) describe the field of public utilities. The next two parts (topics III and IV) focus on the housing market, housing policy, etc.

- Assessment methods
- The course takes the form of a lecture. The lecture (16 lessons) is divided into four parts. The main emphasis is put on self-study.
The course is concluded with a written test and an oral exam. Students are eligible to take the oral exam provided that they fulfill given conditions:
1. they hand in two seminar papers in a given extent and structure within the obligatory date,
2. they pass four on-line tests in the IS MU during an obligatory period (a test is regarded as successful if at least 60% of answers are correct).

Important information! If students commit a prohibited act, such as using various forbidden tools, cribbing, taking out any part of the exam or any other cheating, the teacher is allowed to interrupt an exam and to grade a student with F, FF or FFF according to the seriousness of the offence. The mentioned procedure relates to all the activities that are included in the final evaluation of the course (seminar work, essays, tests etc.). - Language of instruction
