Course objectives
The course focuses on the explanation of the public policies related to the development of municipalities, cities and regions. Territorial self-administrating units carry out a wide range of important activities oriented on achieving balanced development of their area. For this purpose, they use several standard instruments. Development documents drawn up properly, a sensible and adequate financial framework and also conceptual implementation of public policies at level of municipalities are the key prerequisites for the effectiveness of the entire process of development.

The course objective is to introduce students to individual instruments for the management of municipalities, cities and regions and the possibilities of their usage in the implementation of public policies at level of territorial self-administrating units. The students will understand their significance in relation to operational and strategic (long-term) policy management. Thus, the students will be equipped with the knowledge necessary for studying follow-up subjects, especially Public Policies II.
