Cíle předmětu
The course presents the basics of experimental investigation in economic research and introduces selected topics from behavioral economics. Students also develop their critical thinking and practice their presentation and writing skills.
Výstupy z učení
By the end of the course, students will:
-understand the difference between normative and positive approach to economics
-know the basics of how and why to use experiments in economic research
-be able to design a research proposal
-be familiar with selected areas of behavioral economics.
Osnova
  • The course is constructed as a seminar series with a number of international lecturers. In the first lecture, students will learn the basic principles of experimental research in Economics and some cornerstone Behavioral Economic concepts. Lectures 2-12 are a combination of lectures and seminars delivered by international lecturers. A wide range of topics from Experimental and Behavioral Economics will be covered. In Lecture 13, students will deliver their own presentations related to their Team Projects.

Metody hodnocení
Students are expected to join the lectures and actively participate in the discussions. Students are assigned a Team Project, that includes analysis of a selected research paper(s) and delivering a written commentary on the methods, results, and analysis in the paper. In the last lecture, each Team will deliver their project in the form of a presentation
