- Course objectives
- Monetary Economics (MOEK) The subject continues and enhances the knowledge of the monetary sector acquired in Fundamentals of Macroeconomics. At the same time it serves as a prerequisite for optional subjects of financial specialisation. The subject matter will be further developed in obligatory courses World Economy and Economic Policy. The initial section is devoted to the historical development of money. Then the function and structure of financial market, measurement and behaviour of interest rates are explained. The focus of the course is theory of money demand and central banking, with emphasis on formation and regulation of money supply. Creation of balance in the IS-LM model is explained. The final topics cover the theory of exchange rates, their application in the central bank's policy, as well as issues connected with the balance of payments. Examination: written and oral.

- Původ a podstata peněz a úvěru: funkce a možné formy peněz, lekce z historie
- Peníze: současná podoba platebního systému, úvěrová emise, depozitní multiplikátor
- Úvěr: struktura finančního systému a jeho regulace
- Úroková sazba: role úrokové sazby v ekonomice, teorie určení úrokové sazby, teorie časové struktury úrokových sazeb, reálná úroková sazba
- Nabídka peněz: centrální banka a nabídka rezerv, peněžní multiplikátor
- Poptávka po penězích: přístup Fishera, Cambridgeské školy, Keynese, Neokeynesiánců a Friedmana
- Model IS-LM: Keynesovy názory na peníze a model IS-LM
- Monetarismus: Friedmanovy názory na peníze, dlouhodobá a krátkodobá Phillipsova křivka, model AS-AD
- Monetární teorie: vztah peněz a úrokových sazeb, peněz a inflace a peněz a ekonomické aktivity, transmisní mechanizmy
- Monetární politika: vývoj názorů na možnosti a cíle monetární politiky, monetární politika Fedu a ČNB
- Mezinárodní finance: platební bilance, teorie devizového kurzu

- Zkouška písemná a ústní. Dobrovolné problémové otázky v průběhu semestru.
