Course objectives
It is assumed the students have nowledge of the Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet Program.
Learning outcomes
After graduation, the student is able to work in Excel: - read, edit, and visualize data - working whith pivot tables - impotr/export data - Power Query M
Syllabus
  • 1. Basic terms in MS Excel, harmonization of basic knowledge and notions, fundamental rules for model creating, styles and their utilization.
  • 2. A budget – the simplest model. Using of “Search solution” tool.
  • 3. Scenarios, dependence of formulas, time and date functions.
  • 4. Decision, IF, SUMIF, COUNTIF function. Contingent format, user input check.
  • 5. Calculation of future values, investment values and pay interest. Graphs, their types and utilization.
  • 6. Matrices and work with them. Calculations of simple trends, their setting.
  • 7. Data searching, forms and verifying. Search and aggregate function.
  • 8. Summaries. Contingent tables and graphs, their applications and settings.

Teaching methods
Practical work with workbooks, solving real problems.
Assessment methods
Practically oriented tutorials with an emphasis on the active students' approach. Study of recommended literature, autokorection tests, individual project work on assigned tasks. Elaboration case study.
