- Course objectives
- The goal of this course is teaching basic techniques used in commercial geoinformation systems. The course is practically oriented, techniques are illustrated by examples.
- Syllabus
- An overview of basic notions of geo-information systems , land-oriented infor mation systems and cartography.
- The hierarchy of spatial data: vector representation, raster representation a nd topological relations.
- Spatial data structures and methods of an effective access (indexing a space).
- Operational calculus over vector spatial data.
- Raster representation.
- Basic operations over raster data.
- Topological relations and typical tasks used in geo-information technology.
- Administration of spatial data, databases and techniques related to spatial data.
