- Course objectives
- This course aims at introducing state-of-the-art methods for parsing of natural languages, their theoretical background, algorithms and practical implementations and applications.
- Syllabus
- Theoretical background: historical overview, state of the art in parsing methods (phrase-structure parsing, dependency parsing, chunking) and trends, advanced formalisms: HPSG, LFG, CCG, DG, TAG; 2) algorithms and practical implementations: algorithms, implementations, applications and evaluation of parsing (treebanks, tree similarity measurement techniques).
