- Course objectives
- The main objective of the course is to present basic technologies of the dialogue communication and its application in social networks.
- Syllabus
- Speech communication and its social consequences.
- Speech synthesis - the basic principles and phases of the time domain speech synthesis, phonetic transcription, prosody. Practical tests of freely available text-to-speech synthesis systems. SSML - basics of syntax and its fields of application.
- Speech recognition - basic principles, tools for improvement of ASR accuracy, semantic interpretation of recognized speech.
- Human to human and human to computer dialogue communication, social aspects of dialogue systems.
- Principle terms - dialogue, utterance, turn, dialogue system, dialogue strategy. Methods of dialogue system implementation. IT supported methods of human to human and human to computer dialogue communication.
- W3C VoiceBrowser Activity - standards. Simple W3C VoiceBrowser Activity standards based dialogue systems design using the system and mixed initiative dialogue strategy.
- User modelling, modelling of computer emotions using a prosody.
- Social networks - social networking basics, types of social networks, state of the art of dialogue/discussion in the social networks, future prospects of dialogue communication in the social networks.
