Course objectives
The goals of this course is to introduce the students into the basic approaches and issues related to a successful sport event managerial work in the are of people with disabilities. In order to fulfil the course goal it is necessary to cover topics such as "being different" as well as possibilities of charity and humanitary sport events management.
Learning outcomes
After the course completion the students will be able to:
- create a project for a sport event implementation in the area of people with disabilities
- apply the principles of management and marketing to the implementation of a real event
- be aware of the network of sports federations of disability sport and volunteering
- communication with the disabled
- self-reflexion of ones behaviour in a specific background.
Syllabus
  • LECTURES:
  • - Approaches to "normality" and minority groups, terminology.
  • - Charasteristics of charity and humanitary projects.
  • - Contact theory, approaches and motivation to sports events.
  • - Communication and modification of projects for the disabled
  • - Sports federation of the disabled: local and international level
  • - Management of separative, parallel and inclusive programmes. Scheme according to age, handicap type, content of activity and performance level.
  • - Persons with disabilities as participants of management.
  • - Management stages in general and particular events.
  • - Volunteering.
  • - Ambassadorship.
  • SEMINARS: Discussion on topics of lectures.
