- Course objectives
- Demonstration and training of techniques of cycling, hiking, water tourism and rope activities, development of pedagogical and didactic skills, strengthening of personal and professional competences, including safety and crisis management, necessary for the organization and management of training of sports activities in summer conditions.
- Learning outcomes
- Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to:
1. Demonstrate skills in cycling, hiking, water hiking and rope activities
-Describe and demonstrate the basic skills needed to conduct sporting activities safely and effectively in summer conditions
-individually assess the appropriateness of the selection of preparatory exercises for a particular individual
-analyse errors in the technique of walking in the field, cycling, boat handling and movement on rope obstacles
-select appropriate exercises and drills to correct errors in the technique of individual activities
2. Demonstrate pedagogical and didactic skills
-Demonstrate knowledge and competence to effectively lead and organise sport activities in summer conditions, including working with individuals and groups
-adapt teaching to different levels of physical fitness, sporting skills and age categories of participants
-choose and apply appropriate methodological procedures for the development of skills in cycling, hiking, water hiking and rope activities
3. Safety and crisis management
-describe, identify and minimise the risks associated with outdoor activities in summer conditions
-demonstrate knowledge of the basic principles of safety in the organisation of summer sports activities, decision-making in crisis situations and teamwork
-distinguish between appropriate and inappropriate sports equipment and gear for particular activities
4. Orientation, organisation and environmental aspects of summer outdoor activities
-use a map, a GPS and a GPS to move safely in nature and to plan routes
-prepare and lead an outdoor programme with an emphasis on safety, effective group leadership and crisis management
-provide first aid and organise transport of the injured in the field
-adapt outdoor games and competitions to the age and level of participants using team dynamics
-integrate environmental education and the principles of sustainable movement in nature into sporting activities - Syllabus

- Cycling terminology, non-verbal communication in cycling, cycling technique, cycling equipment and gear
- Boating terminology, boating technique, boating equipment and gear
- Hiking terminology, off-road walking technique, hiking equipment and gear, working with a map and buzzer
- Terminology of rope activities, rope techniques, equipment for rope activities, safety and belay
- Safety when organising sports activities in summer conditions

- Assessment methods
- 1.Theoretical test - at least 80% success rate (verification of knowledge of terminology, safety, orientation in the field and organization of outdoor activities).
2.Practical test on technique - evaluation of cycling technique, basic bike servicing and boat riding technique (demonstration and evaluation by the teacher).
3.Organisation part of the programme - preparation and implementation of a selected part of the outdoor programme for the group.
4.Active participation - meeting the minimum practical requirements and active participation in all parts of the course. - Language of instruction
