Cíle předmětu
The main objective of this course is to introduce students to basic knowledge about health promotion on the level of an individual. Students will have the opportunity to examine their own health and this course will provide them with necessary knowledge and experiences to become wise health advisors across different study fields – teachers as well as trainers, physiotherapists or health coaches etc. Through the semester we will focus on the basic dimensions of holistic health using techniques of experiential reflective learning, where students learn from the teacher and current research, but as well from each other with respect to cultural differences of the concept of healthy life in different countries. At the end of this course, students should be able to: - Define health, health promotion and wellness an to explain the differences between personal and public health - Distinguish between passive and active approach to health - Understand the role of personal development in health promotion - Describe dimensions of wellness and their interrelations - Characterize cultural specifics of various approaches to healthy lifestyle - Identify weaknesses in their own health and to apply principles of healthy life in their lives

Výukové metody
Practical seminars using methods of experiential reflective learning – individual work, group discussion, reflection and active homeworks.
Metody hodnocení
Students have to be present to minimum 10 seminars, complete the health assessment questionnaires prior to and after the course and actively carry out tasks from every seminar.
