Cíle předmětu
This block course takes place within the scope of the Visegrad project “After the Solidarity Wave - Civic Engagement for Ukrainian Refugees from a Long-Term Perspective.” The project explores how civil society engagement, emerging in response to the arrival of Ukrainian refugees in Czechia, Poland, and Hungary, has developed over time. It aims to identify drivers of and barriers to long-term civic engagement concerning migration. Students will actively participate in a research project and gain practical experience with data collection. They will be trained theoretically and methodologically to conduct qualitative interviews with civil society actors who have played an active role in the support of Ukrainian refugees in Brno. The ultimate aim of the course is thus to enable students to gain practical experience with qualitative research in the field of migration studies. The students will also have the opportunity to network themselves with students and researchers from other Visegrad countries and Ukraine. Selected students will also have the opportunity to actively participate in the production of a policy paper and a scientific podcast in the summer 2024.
