- Course objectives
- The course is the introduction to social stratification and inequality. The course are divided into three blocks. The first block introduces the basic terms and concepts of inequality and social stratification, as well as to shows the theories of class and social stratification. The second block is aimed to two aspects of social stratification: the unequal distribution of capitals and the unequal distribution of opportunities to achieve these capitals. The finish of this block is aimed to discussion about both the lifestyles of class and the concept of classless society. The third block deals with the Czech society and its social structure before and after November 1989.
