Nejdůležitějším předpokladem je schopnost číst odbornou literaturu v anglickém jazyce a mít zvládnutou teorii a metodologii mezinárodních vztahů na úrovni magisterského studia na KMVZES FSS MU.

Cílem předmětu je prohlubit znalosti doktorandů v oblasti teorie mezinárodních vztahů s důrazem na realismu a neorelismus, idealismus, scientismus a kritické teorie.
