- Osnova
- The course introduces students to a series of current debates in cultural sociology. The time period covered is roughly the last decade, i.e. the priority is given to recent and cutting-edge interventions, most of which have been published in the leading English-speaking peer-reviewed sociological journals and Anglophone publiushing houses. The idea is to expose M.A. sociology students to a range of theories and their empirical applications that are likely to set the tracks along which cultural sociology will move in the near future. Because most of the papers are self-contained professional articles or chapters rather than excerpts from full-size books, the students will develop a sustained engagement with the standard professional format of sociology writing today. The range of topics is not restricted only to the typical issues of “the late modern West.“ It includes references to non-Western localities as well.
