- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students should be able to understand and explain basic features of the development of Czechoslovak politics in the period 1969-1989 with specific attention dedicated to the type of the regime and relationship between the state and the society.

- 5. The methods and tools used for regime stabilization
- 6. The dissent
- 7. The unsuccessful efforts of the Husak group to make a partial reforms
- 8. Demoralization and the ideological decline of the regime

- 10. The struggles for perestroika in Czechoslovakia
