Course objectives
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the concepts of communication and basic communication functions. To orient them in the history of rhetoric (from ancient origins, Christian Middle Ages, Renaissance, to the opinions of 19th century authors) and to familiarize them with the forms of contemporary rhetorical and communicative practices. To characterize concepts as speaker personality, vocabulary genres, phases of the speech process, and the culture of spoken speech, with an emphasis on the speaker's relation to the audience. In the practical part (seminar), the course builds the confidence of communicators - in the simulation of interactive communication exchanges, including orientation in manipulation techniques. The course overlaps with the field of psychology and sociology in relation to media. The complexity of the course is based on the requirements of the application sphere, as elaborated in the market analysis.
