From spring semester 2023, recognition of examinations and certificates will be done only through the Document Office in IS.

Students will submit an application entitled "Minimum Language Competence (Recognition)" and upload the required documents into the folder; see below.

The guarantor will then review the application and determine the grade.

1. recognition of courses on the basis of a language certificate

The student submits the application through the Document Office in IS, uploading a scan of a certified copy of the certificate; or a plain copy, and then bringing the original certificate to the secretary’s office for verification.

B2 level certificates:

• Only examinations with a grade of A, B, or C are accepted.

• Certificates older than 3 years are not accepted

• NOTE - the basic state examination is not recognised

C1 level certificates:

• if the certificate is less than 5 years old, it can be recognised and is automatically graded as A

• if the certificate is older than 5 years, it is recognised with the same grade as on the certificate

2. recognition of MU courses

The student submits the application through the Document Office in IS.

• Only courses ending with an examination at a level of at least B2 (according to CEFR) are accepted

• Only examinations with a grade of A, B, or C are recognized

• Examinations older than 3 years are not recognized

3. recognition of courses based on completion of courses at another university

The student will submit the application through the Document Office in IS by uploading the following attachments – confirmation of course completion (diploma supplement, confirmation from the study department, or a copy of the index), which must include confirmation of the level and content of the foreign language examination according to the CEFR. NOTE: without this confirmation, the application cannot be recognised.

• Only courses ending with an examination at a level of at least B2 (according to CEFR) are accepted

• Only examinations with a grade of A, B, or C are recognized

• Examinations older than 3 years are not recognized
