Course objectives
This course focuses on the different types of interviews that are used in work psychology. The aim of the course is to provide students with knowledge and skills that will help them to increase the effectiveness of psychological work with employees from the moment of their first contact with a future employer till the end of their career in an organization.
The key part of the curriculum is the introduction to the basic types of interview in the field of personnel psychology, their theoretical background and rules, and practice in conducting these interviews. In the course, students will learn how to contact new employees, retain them in the organization, and how to promote higher performance of individuals and teams, as well as how to effectively terminate the collaboration.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students will be able to:
i. define the types of interviews in the field of work psychology;
ii. know and explain the differences between the various types of interview;
iii. know the principles of conducting each type of interview;
iv. define appropriate questions for each type of interview;
v. conduct each type of interview in a way that achieves the desired goal of the interview while maintaining a good communication atmosphere.
