Course objectives
The course is the first occasion for understanding of the elementary terms and basis of the welfare state theory. During the seminars, the emphasis is put on the following questions: "What is the welfare state?", "What are the differences between the ideal types of it?", "How the welfare state has arisen and developed in Europe and North America?", "What is the European welfare state model nature?" Condition of the successful participation is strong understanding of the recommended books. Students must be able to develop the basic concepts of the literature while writing the assay and literature review.
