Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to:
understand the legal order of the Czech Republic and the EU;
describe legal mechanisms and law enforcement;
identify the ways of law application
The course provides basic orientation in the field for students of other disciplines than is the law. The subject covers the legislation of the Czech Republic and the European Union with the accentation of the gender problematic. The aim of the course is to educate potential experts from non-law disciplines in more than just basic awareness concerning legislation, ability to orient themselves quickly in the law, including crutial mechanisms of its enforcement. The course provides both theoretical knowledge and practical experience.

  • Introduction to the theory of law I and II Legislative aspects of the protection of human rights and liberties Introduction to the European law Czech processual law The legislation concerning NGOs European Court for human rights in Strassbourg hearings Equality of women and men in the context of the Czech family law, law aspects of the abortion Equality of women and men in the context of the Czech penal law, legal grasping or the problematic of domestic violence Equal opportunities of women and men in the light of legal regulations of the EU and European Court of Justice desissions Institucional bases, protection and enforcement of equal opportunities and laws.
