- Creation of a friendly and stress-less environment for collaborative work in the field of social theory.
- Learning outcomes
- Studující v předmětu nabývají následujících znalostí a dovedností: porozumět a reprodukovat komplexní a abstraktní argumenty v sociologické analýze; rozpoznat funkce abstraktních konceptů a komplexní argumentace pro vysvětlení empirických fenoménů; kreativní, avšak disciplinované užívání abstraktních teoretických konceptů v empirickém zkoumání; rozpoznání analytického dosahu a omezení různých teoretických přístupů ke studiu sociálních fenoménů; rozvinutí vlastní sociologické představivosti.
- Syllabus
- The course changes its content and thematic orientation semester by semester. The syllabus itself is designed in collaboration with the actual group of students, and it reflects their own last texts as well as their actual interests and the newest developments in the field.

- Individual presentations of the theoretical aspects of one's own work (text); semi-moderated critical debate of the theoretical dimensions in an academic paper.
- Assessment methods
- Students are granted credits individually, depending on the nature and extent of their individual participation in the seminar. Major criteria: elaborating and presenting own text; the extent to which that text can be considered as completed; an active participation in the seminar discussions.
