- Course objectives
- The course aiming on encouraging of critical and scientific thinking in psychology and within pop-psychological discourse as well. The students will be able to identify and analyse coercive tools, generalizations and simplifikations leading to distorted prezentations of psychology knowledge.
- Learning outcomes
- Student would be able:
- to identify unproper distortions and simplicities in psychology;
- to use better arguments in discussions on psychology knowledge;
- to describe scientific and non-scientific approach and show it at examples;
- to lead a debate on ethical issues in psychologist work;
- to indentify fallacies and traps often used by argumentations;
- to recognize biases which represent complications in proper used psychology. - Syllabus
