- Course objectives
- Students who successfully complete this course understand the basic requirements of academic papers, are able to define the main genres of academic writing (abstract, summary, review, essay, term-paper), have mastered the basics of critical analysis of texts and can research and actively use sources as well as apply the norms for proper citation of sources. The knowledge acquired during the course will be used by the students for their own creative writing and paper publishing.

- Teaching methods
- Lectures, seminars, homeworks.
- Assessment methods
- There is a lecture every 2 weeks. In the meantime, students work on their assignments. Students are expected to attend every lecture and hand in all assignments in time. Grading: Students receive a final letter grade (A-F) based on the number of points they receive for their writing assignments. 60% is required to pass. Total number of points to be gained is 60: term-paper 20; review 15; essay 10; abstract and summary 5; research and proper citation of sources 6, critical text analysis 4. A 60-56 points), B(55-51 points), C (50-46 points), D (45-41 points), E (40-36 ], F (35 points and below).
