Course objectives
The student will reach level B1+ after completing the course.
During the course, all language skills (listening, reading, speaking, writing) are practiced and authentic materials are used.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students can listen to the radio and watch documentary films, they should understand lexturs and the main ideas of relatively complex text on both concrete and academic/professional topics, including discussions in their field of specialisation; can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party; can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of academic/professional subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue The course is focused on academic skills and professional language.

Teaching methods
One two-hour workout per week. Regular practice in oral and written expression. Presentations. Exercises on e-learning platform, group work.
Assessment methods
Active participation in seminars, attendance (min 70%), completion of interim tasks and mandatory portfolio assignments. The oral part of the credit is in the form of a presentation on the topic + discussion. It is possible to apply for the credit after completing the portfolio tasks.
