Course objectives
The main objectives can be summarized as follows: to be introduced to legal French to learn specific features of the French administrative and legal system to get new knowledge and new communicative competences and oral skills, in particular understanding both written and spoken texts
Syllabus
  • Exploring and working with the texts relating to the following fields: Family Law, Judiciary in France, Administrative Courts, Common Courts, Civil Procedure, Judicature - Comparisons, Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure. Topics for examination: Administrative Organisation in France, The President and Government, The Parliament, Elections, Budget and Taxes, European Union, Essential Concepts in Law and Civil Law, Family Law, Organisation of Judiciary in France, Administrative Judiciary, Common Judiciary, Civil Procedure, Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure.
