The participation at the course Private International Law I is the basic prerequisite for the attending of the course PIL II. Passing through the course in Civil Law and Business Law can be seen as a favourable prerequisite for the students from other faculties. - Course Enrolment Limitations

- Course objectives
- The course in Private International Law II is focused on the international procedure law, european international procedure law and international arbitration law. At the end of this course the student should be able to understand the system of rules applicable in this area, should be able to explain the jurisdiction of the national courts in cases with foreign element, should be able to analyze the conditions for the recognition and enforcement of the judgment issued by foreign courts. He should be able to explain the differences between the international arbitration procedure, ADR and litigation. He will be able to formulate the arbitration agreement, to explain the arbitration procedure and the enforcement of the arbitral award.This part of the course is devoted to the seminars and to the discussion on the above mentioned topics.

- I. The regulation Brussel I - jurisdiction. II. The regulation Brussel I - the recognition and enforcement of the judgements. III. Other regulations creating the common justice area in the civil matters. IV. International commercial arbitration, mediation, conciliation. V. International arbitration agreement. VI. Selected questions relating to the arbitration procedure. VII. The recognition and the enforcement of the arbitral award.
