Cíle předmětu
• This course will introduce students to the European Union Financial Market Regulation and Supervision after the crisis and enable them to analyze the relevant legal issues.
• This course is designed to familiarize the student with the key principles relating to the contemporary law of EU single financial market. The classes will put theoretical concepts into action through case studies. Students who wish to obtain a basic knowledge of European Banking Law and European Financial Market Law will also benefit from this course. Moreover it is recommended that those who wish to specialize in domestic banking/financial market law take this course as a foundational course, prior to studying the more advanced law courses.
• Main objectives are as follows:
- good understanding of forms of economic and financial integration and the notion of the EU internal market, its evolution as a legal construct;
- good understanding of model of transnational legal harmonisation and implementation of EU financial market regulation; detailed knowledge of institutional changes of the EU Financial Regulation and Supervision as a response to the 2008 global financial crisis;
- detailed knowledge of the new European Supervisory Architecture; detailed knowledge of constructive items of Banking Union;
- to analyze impact of the EU financial market regulation and supervision on the domestic law;
- to use knowledge to be able to resolve a case studies from the domestic/European financial market law.
