Course objectives
This course will teach the student to simplify the general practice of Turkish Maritime Law. This class will provide the student with a clear understanding of the fundamental rules regarding the carrier’s liability under Turkish Law and International Treaties.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students should be able to:
- understand and evaluate the definition of maritime carrier
- have knowledge on the provisions under Turkish Law and international treaties regarding carrier’s liability.
- make a comparison between different regulations.

  • 2. Carrier’s Duty to Provide a Seaworthy Vessel
  • 3. Liability for Loading Cargo to Another Ship
  • 4. Liability for Carriage of Cargo on Deck
  • 5. Liability for Unlawful Deviation
  • 6. Liability for Breach of Exercising Duty of Care for the Cargo
