Cíle předmětu
The following short course provides a broad overview of public international law, including the ways in which international law is created, the entities to which it applies, the mechanisims by which it is forced. The course will explore a number of foundational concepts of international law, such as regulation of use of force, the legal protection of civilians and civilian objects, features of international disputes settlement, negotiations and consultations. A special attention will be given to the foreign investment protection mechanisms discussions during the armed conflicts.
Výstupy z učení
At the end of the course, students should be able to:
- Identify the legal framework and characteristics of institutions of public international law;
- Analyze the legal content of International Court of Justice decisions;
- To interpret the legal protection new standards of foreign investments.
