Course objectives
At the end of the course students will be able to translate morphological forms of nouns, verbs and frequent pronouns. They will by able to interpret simple general and legal phrases and understand latin abbreviations.
Syllabus
  • 1. Latin pronunciation. Grammatical terminology of nouns and adjectives. I. declination of nouns and adjectives. 2. Prepositions. II. declination of nouns and adjectives. General phrases I. 3. Grammatical terminology of verbs. I.-IV. conjugation of verbs (present and past tense Imperfektum, imperativ). 4. III. deklination of nouns. III. declination of adjectives. Legal phrases I. 5. IV. a V. declination of nouns. Legal phrases II. 6. General phrases II. Frequent latin abreviations. 7. Irregular verb esse and its derivations. Verbs „deponentia“. Irregular verb fieri. 8. Personal and possessive pronouns. 9. Prefixes. Word order in Latin. 10. Noun suffixes. Translation of an adapted text. 11. Adjective suffixes. Translation of an original text. 12. Parts of speech conversion.
