Course objectives
The aim of this subject is to give basic information how to invest on capital market in the Czech Republic to the student of Faculty of Law. It should offer information about rights and duties of the securities emitters and other members of the market. Control and monitoring on capital market will be mentioned, too. At the end of the course student should be able to understand and explain basic terms from the area of capital market law, describe functioning of the capital market in the Czech Republic and apply the knowledge in practice. Student should be able to analyze prospectus of the securities, set conditions to run business in the area of investments, analyze status of the collective fund and decisions of Appellate Committee.
Learning outcomes
After the course, the student will be able to;
- to define the basic theoretical characteristics of the capital market and its functioning;
- Identify the inclusion of the capital market in the system of law;
- Know the practical problems associated with the capital market;
- Clearly define the role of capital market supervision;
- to elaborate the basic features and problems of the subject of the seminar work based on presented colloquial work in area of capital market;

Speaches connected with class discussion. Individual work in the form of skill training. Support with the e-learning for students with Individual study plans.
Assessment methods
Semestral paper and its presentation on chosen theme within the area of capital market law written by a group of students (max. 4 students).

The course is taught annually.
Teacher's information
Students with an authorized Individual Study Plan, ie also students currently abroad have the opportunity to complete this course, but it is necessary to prepare a seminar paper and write a substitute contribution consisting of 5 pages on the topic of comparing the regulation of the selected Capital market law institute in the Czech Republic and in the selected country, where the student resides under the Erasmus program, or in a selected country if the student has an Individual Study Plan for another reason.
