- Course objectives
- The course is intended primarily for students whose research focus is in the field of labour or social law. It will focus on deepening knowledge of labour law and social security law in deeper and broader contexts. The course will be problem-oriented, focusing on current topics addressed in the professional literature and case law, also taking into account the research focus of enrolled students.
- Learning outcomes
- Students should broaden their knowledge in the professional areas being discussed. They should learn to formulate their own professional analytical solutions to more specifically formulated professional questions and to develop their ability to present them. They will be able to solve complex cases in selected areas based on a deep understanding of the theoretical foundations and knowledge of decision-making practice.
- Syllabus
- The position of labour law in the legal system. Relationship to other branches of law. Comparative context and applicability of foreign literature and case law for the development of Czech labour law. Functions and principles of pre-employment law and their concrete manifestations. The possibility of applying the Civil Code to labour law relations. Participants in labour law relations, establishment of labour law relations, legal facts in labour law, invalidity of legal acts.

- reading of assigned texts, subsequent joint discussion of them, solving case studies, presentation of solutions, peer to peer review, group work, formulation of questions on the topic and their mutual solution among students

- participation in joint meetings, the professional level of contributions to the discussion, the quality of prepared written submissions, the depth and comprehensiveness of the arguments
