Course objectives
The main objective of the course is basics of therapeutic exercise Basics of therapeutic exercise: the application of therapeutic exercise to a patient. An initial examination of the patients needs and a constant reassessment of the situation. The knowledge of the condition from witch the patient suffers. The potential recovery rate. The complication of therapeutic exercise. Mechanical principles associated with the exercise. The basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology and psychological reaction of patients.
Learning outcomes
Student will be know do after finishing subject
- theoretical procedures in the basics of therapeutic rehabilitation: application of medical rehabilitation in a patient, initial examination of the patient and his needs, re-estimation of the patient's physical situation
- patient illness, rate of potential therapeutic effect
- complications of medical rehabilitation, mechanical principles associated with therapeutic rehabilitation, basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology and psychological reactions of the patient

  • Exercise Unit.
  • Therapeutic exercise program. Cooperation between medical doctor
  • and physiotherapeutist.
  • Reeducation of movement.
  • Movement – basic property of muscle.
  • Types of movement.
  • Passive movement.
  • Mechanical movement.
  • Therapist performing movements.
  • Active movements: freely movement, assisted movements, resisted movements.
  • Respiratory basic exercise.
  • Relaxation.
  • Neurophysiology of movements (reflex, facilitation, conditioning, stimulation)
