Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide students with information from the field of chronic intensive care.
Learning outcomes
Student will: - care for the patient in a vigilant coma - Tackle pain relief - Apply psychological approach and communication techniques in interpersonal relationships - Properly apply pharmacological agents used in intensive medicine and recognize their side effects - Apply the concept of stimulating perception in working practices - Perform highly specialized nursing care for patients in vigilant coma, persistent and permanent vegetative state - apply the hygiene regime - use trends in wound healing - Provide comprehensive, highly specialized nursing care for patients requiring UPV including the risks and complications associated with them and to participate in their solution - Communicate with the patient on UPV - Monitor the functionality of the instrumentation technician to perform the UPV and ensure its continued readiness - Perform comprehensive highly specialized nursing care for a patient with a disorder of consciousness - Apply psychological aspects of nursing care in intensive medicine - Tackle pain relief
Syllabus
  • Lecture: Week 1 Department of Chronic intensive care (primary diagnosis, instrumentation, equipment and facilities, staffing, documentation, legislation, needs of the patient in DIP, goals hospitalization and nursing process). Week 2 home mechanical ventilation (indication DUPV, forms, complications, legislation, project DUPV, Os. Process of ventilated patients in the DP, oxygen). Week 3 Hygiene care, immobilization syndrome, infection prevention (specific hygiene patient care according to the extent of his disability, chronic infections, nosocomial infections, care aids in DIP, DP). 4th week physiological functions in the DIP, IP. nutritional care and excretion in patients DIP (swallowing training, evaluation tolerance nutrition, catheterization men). 5th week of Osh. of airway care of ventilated patients in home care and DIP (tracheostomy care / complicated tracheostomy, toilet airway, preventing VAP, application of drugs into the airway. roads, weaning, noninvasive ventilation, physiological assessment of respiratory function). 6th, 7th and 8th week Basal stimulation for patients in intensive care (importance of the concept, implementation of the concept in nursing. Care, practical training, use kinaesthetic in basal therapy, the proportion of families to care for the man on the UPV) Week 9 Communication with ventilated patients in DP, DIP, communication with family (communication options for patients UPV, preventing social isolation, leisure). Week 10 Rehabilitation in Intensive Care Unit (positioning, passive / active RHB, RHB breathing, spec. RHB for selected diagnoses, verticalization - locomotion, a plan of rehabilitation for chron. Sick, restoring damaged functions, education for self-sufficiency, utilities, documentation). Je něco špatně?
