Course objectives
The course build upon the of lectures and prepares the future nurses to practical situations with legal consequences that can occur in nursing care and intensive care.
Learning outcomes
Students / students will have basic practical knowledge after completing the course to correctly handle real situations, including: - communication with the patient when receiving and terminating care - communication with family members, close persons, legal representatives of the patient - communicating with public authorities while maintaining patient privacy Students / students who are expected to be leaders in the future will also be focused on labor issues, scheduling of shifts, health finance issues, competency and training frameworks for their profession, and other health care professions.
Syllabus
  • - the rights of children, minors, non-legal and otherwise protected patients - Patient privacy, communications and patient information, handling of medical records - informed patient consent, reversal, denial of care, failure to provide care - patient hospitalization without consent and consent - coping with aggressive patients, working with the police and social services - Labor relations in the health care sector, creation and termination of employment, health and safety at work, labor law responsibility - time management, scheduling of shifts, holidays, overtime and obstacles at work - Mistakes in providing nursing care. Procedure lege artis - Patient rights in scientific research to verify new knowledge and use of non-established methods. - health care financing and relations with insurance companies - an economic factor when deciding on care provision - Practical issues of the Pharmaceuticals Act
