Course objectives
The aim of the subject is to acquaint students with apparatus equipment of the optometric workplace and with methods of examination of refractive errors. Individual examination apparatus and way of their use, principles of the examination methods, technical documentation.
Syllabus
  • History of the ophthalmology, optometry and contactology. Their definition and position in the world. Anatomy of the eye, optical characteristics of the eye, adaptation, colour sense, binocular vision, physiology of vision, ophthalmologic examination methods. Errors of the optical system of the eye Ammetropy Refractometry, examination methods Refractometers and keratometers Cycloplegic examination Subjective examination methods Spectacle correction of refractive errors Spectacle optics Types of spectacle lenses News in spectacle technology
