- Course objectives
- Students will be able to apply the nursing process for individuals to eye department. The student will know the diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in ophthalmology
- Syllabus
- Basic investigative methods in ophthalmology . Fundamentals of nursing care, nurses work in an ambulance and eye beds. Basic pharmaceutical groups in ophthalmology, and their use.
- The role of nurses in the examination of the eye refraction.
- Vitreoretinální surgery - indications, both before and post-operative care for the patient .
- Cataract surgery - patient care before and after cataract surgery.
- The role of nurses in glaukom surgery.
- Accident in ophthalmology, base 1 assistance.
- Caring for a patient with practical blindness, rehabilitation and compensatory aids.
