Course objectives
The main learning objectives are:
- acquiring theoretical knowledge about the organization and importance of psychiatric care in urgent acute care
- acquiring theoretical knowledge about major psychiatric disorders;
- acquiring theoretical knowledge about dealing with acute psychiatric conditions;
obtaining theoretical knowledge about possible pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment in psychiatry.
Learning outcomes
After the completion of the course the student will be able to:
- understand the importance and organization of psychiatric care in acute urgent care
- describe and recognize symptoms of the most common mental disorders
- suggest appropriate acute treatment to calm an agitated.
