Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquire basic knowledge and information on the relationship between diet intake, nutritional status, physical fitness and performance in competition, ie to become familiar with the field of sports nutrition.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course the student will be able to advisory work for individuals in sport for recreation or elite level.
Syllabus
  • The importance of nutrition in sports and basic concepts in sports nutrition Energy balance of essential nutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, fats), micronutrients in relation to sport Water, water balance and fluid intake. A special section focuses in more detail on nutritional supplements in sports nutrition before, during and after training / competition. Nutrition in Sport at specific groups of athletes (children and dolescenti, sporting seniors, etc.)
